You can deactivate a phone number only if the person is in the Active eSIM status. On the person’s card, on the Manage Plan tab, there is a [Terminate Plan] button, after clicking it, the user can
  1. Terminate the number
  2. Terminate the number and delete the user
If the user simply terminates the number, the person is left without a number and without status.
